Starting or Stopping openGauss

Starting openGauss

Log in as the OS user omm to the primary node of the database.
Run the following command to start openGauss:
```
gs_ctl start -D /opt/data
```
NOTE: If the system displays a message indicating that gs_ctl cannot be found, check whether the environment variable file (~/.bashrc by default) has been sourced. If you do not want to source the environment variable file, manually switch to the installation path and run the command.

Stopping openGauss

Log in as the OS user omm to the primary node of the database.
Run the following command to stop openGauss:
```
gs_ctl stop -D /opt/data
```
NOTE: For details about how to start and stop nodes, see “Server Tools > gs_ctl” in the Tool Reference.
